Unisys to show its mettle as Platinum
Sponsor
of the Registered Traveler Forum
Unisys, a worldwide systems integrator specializing in information
technology services and solutions, today announced that it will have a presence at the Registered
Traveler Forum, for which it is a Platinum sponsor. The Forum is due to take place at the Marriott
Paris Rive Gauche in Paris from 28 February to 1 March. Endorsed by the European Commission,
the Registered Traveler Forum is the first global platform to focus on the most relevant
opportunities and issues relating to the introduction of Registered Traveler (RT) programs
worldwide.
Larry Zmuda, a partner within Unisys
Federal Government Group, will address the conference
delegates during the afternoon session on Wednesday
28 February and will talk about business models for
deploying successful RT programs, whilst Roberto Tavano,
a partner within Unisys Continental Europe Global Public
Sector, will chair the session “Balancing security
and facilitation: front-end operations for passenger,
baggage and cargo screening and inspection” during
the Transportation Security Forum on Thursday 1 March
that will run in parallel with the Registered Traveler
Forum. Roberto Tavano is responsible for developing
and leading Unisys Domestic Security programs across
Continental Europe.
"Although cost estimates for launching
an RT program range from $1.5-2.5 million per airport,
the reality is that it is impossible to calculate the
cost of deploying a program from a single site. Nor
should an RT program be viewed as a sole airport opportunity,"
comments Roberto Tavano. “Larry Zmuda’s
keynote will highlight the importance of dealing with
major, large-scale system providers when looking to
introduce an RT program in order to guarantee long-term
visibility of the program. This approach will also help
certain airports to ensure a return on investment within
a reasonable time frame."
Unisys representatives will be on hand
throughout the duration of the exhibition to discuss
and demo the company's latest product lines.
Organized by Wise Media, the Registered
Traveler Forum welcomes government representatives,
border security and immigration officials, law enforcement
and asylum authorities, airport authorities, frequent
flyer program operators, embassy and consulate personnel,
supporting organizations, as well as technology vendors
and experts.
